Service Description

Natasha uses the modality of ACT which does not have symptom reduction as a goal. Instead ACT is based on the view that the ongoing attempt to get rid of “symptoms” actually creates a clinical disorder in the first place. ACT believes that as soon as a private experience is labeled a “symptom,” a struggle with the “symptom” is created. Using ACT techniques Natasha will aim to transform your relationship with the difficult thoughts and feelings your are struggling with and assist you in no longer perceiving them as “symptoms.” Instead, Natasha will coach you to perceive the thoughts and feelings as harmless, even if uncomfortable in the moment. It is through this process that ACT actually achieves symptom reduction—but as a by-product and not the goal.
